Replacement Schedule

Overview

Certain smoke system components are located within the engine compartment and therefore exposed to high heat, vibration, and chemical conditions. To ensure continued safe and reliable performance, these components are subject to a recommended replacement interval.

Replacement Recommendation

The following components may be replaced every 3 years:

Stainless steel braided hoses

Injector assembly and fittings

Injector mounting clamps

Why Replace?

These components operate in a demanding environment and may degrade over time due to:

Continuous exposure to elevated temperatures

Engine vibration and mechanical stress

Contact with smoke oil and combustion byproducts

This degradation may not be visible but can affect performance and safety.

Risks of Continued Use Beyond Service Life

Failure to replace these components at the required interval may result in:

Potential fire hazard

Reduced system performance

Smoke oil leaks within the engine compartment

Component(s) loosening or detachment from the exhaust system

Replacement Interval

Service life: 3 years from date of installation

If installation date is unknown, replacement should be performed immediately

Compliance

Adhering to this replacement schedule is part of proper system maintenance.  Smoking Airplanes is not responsible for managing customer's maintenance schedule.
